Let's create environments that not

peaceful & support your well-being.

Hey, I'm Julie

I'm a decluttering and self-care coach, but more importantly, I used to be you.

A few years ago my home was so overwhelming I was embarrassed to invite people in. I tried every system. I started, crashed, shamed myself, and started over again. Sound familiar?

Here's what finally changed things. I stopped trying to do it perfectly. I gave myself 10 minutes instead of a whole weekend. I celebrated putting one bowl away. And I learned that my ADHD brain wasn't broken, it just needed a different approach.

I don't believe in "should." I believe in pink space, that gentle breathing room you deserve. I believe 10 minutes is enough. I believe something is always better than nothing.

If you're tired of starting over and ready for a home that feels like a place of peace again, you're in the right place.

✨ Before & After: From Dread to Joy in My Laundry Room ✨

✨ Before & After: From Dread to Joy in My Laundry Room ✨

October 24, 20244 min read

A few years ago, my laundry room was my scary space. No matter how hard I tried to stay on top of it, it always felt overwhelming and cluttered. Honestly, I avoided going in there whenever I could. The room had become a place to stash things I didn’t know what to do with, and laundry? Let’s just say I dreaded it.

But then, something changed. I decided to take action and reclaim this space. By applying simple organizing principles I had been learning, I completely transformed my laundry room from a place of chaos to a space that sparks joy every time I walk into it!

Before: A Cluttered, Overwhelming Space

When I first took a photo of my laundry room, I was honestly embarrassed to share it. It had become a catch-all for random items that didn’t belong, and no matter how much I tried to organize, I could never get it under control. Every time I walked in, it felt like an uphill battle.

Looking at that photo now, I don’t feel embarrassed anymore—I see opportunity. That messy laundry room was the starting point for something amazing. I didn’t need to have everything figured out right away; I just needed to start.

After: A Space That Brings Me Joy

The transformation was incredible. By taking small, manageable steps, I slowly tackled my laundry room and made it into a space I actually enjoy. It wasn’t about making it perfect overnight; it was about small wins and using simple strategies to make the process feel achievable.

Here’s what worked for me:

1. 10 Minutes a Day

I committed to spending just 10 minutes a day working on the laundry room. Breaking it down like this made it feel totally achievable. Those small efforts added up to some really big changes!

2. Decluttering & Organizing in Zones

I divided the laundry room into zones, which made the process feel less overwhelming. I made decisions about what needed to stay, what needed to go, and slowly worked through one section at a time. Tackling smaller areas helped me stay focused and kept the momentum going.

3. Maintaining the Space

Once the room was decluttered and organized, it became so much easier to maintain. Now, I just do quick check-ins to make sure everything stays in its place. Overall, it has stayed clutter-free because every item has a designated home.

What I Learned Along the Way

My laundry room is now a space I genuinely enjoy. I love walking in there, knowing it’s organized, functional, and peaceful. This transformation didn’t just change how I feel about laundry—it changed how I feel about my home.

Here’s what I’ve learned through this journey:

Small steps add up. Taking just a few minutes a day to focus on one area can lead to huge differences over time.
You don’t have to do it all at once. Breaking down a project into zones makes it more manageable and less overwhelming.
Joy is possible in any space. Even the rooms you dread can become places of peace and happiness with a little effort and care.

My Gentle Reminder: Pace Yourself

During this process, I was so excited by the progress that I pushed myself a little too hard at times. So here’s a gentle reminder to check in with yourself as you go. Take breaks, pace yourself, and trust that those small, 10-minute efforts will lead to big results.

I’m proud to say that I’ve maintained this space for years now. Sometimes it needs a quick refresh, but overall, it has stayed clutter-free and joyful because of the systems I’ve put in place.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by a space in your home, know that you can transform it too. It’s not about perfection or rushing through the process—it’s about taking small, manageable steps and creating a space that truly feels like you.

Testimonials

''I highly recommend her for your

next organizational project!''

''Everyone needs a non-judgmental “best friend” who will work shoulder-to-shoulder with you as you work toward your organizational goals. Julie is that best friend. In the kindest and gentlest way, Julie helped me work through a large project in smaller, more manageable tasks. She kept me focused on the task at hand, dealing with both the physical and emotional attachment I had with some of the items I had held on to for much too long. Whether it’s a short-term or long-term project, Julie can help you get to the finish line! I highly recommend her for your next organizational project!'' - Kathy

''She opened my mind to new tools and strategies into my daily life''

''My experience with Julie was incredible. She is a kind, calming, safe space. I enjoyed the exercise we did together. It really help me view my emotions from a different perspective. She knew what questions to ask and how to help me analyze my feelings. She’s educated in what she does. I would love to do it again with her!! She opened my mind to new tools and strategies into my daily life. ❤️❤️❤️''- Kate

''It quickly gave me perspective on how I allow my emotions take control''

''The exercise was quick and effective. It quickly gave me perspective on how I allow my emotions take control. It’s interesting how I had immediate answers to the questions I was asked. I can only speak for myself, but this changed my thoughts for that day and I was present. I did continue to think about the exercise the following day and tried to remember how I felt when I answered the questions. I believe it was effective. I plan on using that exercise or at least remember what I answered when I feel like I’m spiraling or overthinking my thoughts'' - Maritza

''I feel about myself and take care of myself is related to so many aspects of my life, including my relationships and decluttering my home.''

''Being in this community with Julie’s guidance has helped me to understand about Self Care and Self Love, two concepts that were very foreign to me. I get it know, and I’m learning more all the time about how the way I feel about myself and take care of myself is related to so many aspects of my life, including my relationships and decluttering my home.'' - Laura
